The Studies on Antioxidation Effects of CIS, KIS, KIH

Abstract
Objectives: This study was carried out to examine the effect of CIS(Chinese Impatiens semens), KIS(Korea Impatiens semens), KIH(Korea Impatiens Herba) on antioxidation.

Methods: CIS, KIS, KIH were investigated effects of antioxidation for DPPH radical ability, nitrate reductase activity(NR), superoxide dismutase activity(SOD), catalase activity, lipid peroxidase(LP) and glutathione(GSH). In this experiment rats were divided into 4 group, Normal; non-treated, Control ; injected with acetaminophen (500 mg/kg, i.p), Test 1; injected with acetaminophen after CIS (500 mg/kg) pretreatment for 7days, Test 2; injected with acetaminophen after KIS (500mg/kg) pretreatment for 7days, Test 3; injected with acetaminophen after KIH (500 mg/kg) pretreatment for 7days, Test 4; injected with acetaminophen after Ascorbic acid (500 mg/kg) pretreatment for 7days, Each values are the mean ¡¾ S.E for 6 separate experiments.

Results: In vitro, DPPH(electron donating ability) radical ability and nitrate reductase activity(NR) were increased according to the increasing of CIS, KIS, KIH concentrations. Among others CIS, KIS were significantly increased to the level of BHT(butylated hydroxytoluene). In vivo, compared with Normal group, SOD(superoxide dismutase) activity and Catalase activity were decreased in the acetaminophen treated group. On the other hand, CIS, KIS, KIH in the pretreated groups SOD activity and Catalase activity were significantly increased. Among others KIS was almost increased to the level of Ascorbic acid. Compared with Normal group, lipid peroxidation was increased in acetaminophen treated group. On the other hand, CIS, KIS, KIH in the pretreated groups were decreased. Among others KIS was almost significantly decreased to the level of Ascorbic acid. In the acetaminophen treated group, GSH activity was decreased by compare with Normal group. And in the CIS, KIS, KIH pretreated groups, GSH activity was increased to the control group. Among others KIS was almost significantly increased to the level of Ascorbic acid. These results suggest that among others KIS was almost increased to the level of Ascorbic acid.

Conclusion: Acoding to the above results, the antioxidant activities of KIS were proved in experiment and it should be studied and developed more throughly.
